Domestic & small commercial / Leeds

Safe, tidy electrical work in Leeds. Done properly the first time.

  • Two-person local team
  • Testing & reports explained
  • Clear written quotes

I'm Tom. There are two of us, and we do the work ourselves. From a socket that needs moving to a house that needs rewiring, we'll tell you what's needed and what it'll cost.

Fictional Hartley electrician checking a closed consumer unit in a Leeds-style home, with dust sheets laid below. HARTLEY / ON THE JOB
Your home. Our work.Dust sheets down. Tools ready. No fuss.

01 / The work we do

Small jobs.
Proper attention.

Homes, rental properties, shops and small offices. Here are the starting prices, before we get into the particulars.

Consumer unit upgrade

from £550

Replacement board, circuit testing and certification. We'll check the existing wiring first and explain any extra work before quoting.

EICR landlord certificate

from £150

An electrical condition inspection and written report for your rental property. Any remedial work is priced separately, with your approval.

Extra sockets

from £95

A socket where you actually need one. We check the circuit, agree the position and cable route, then fit and test it.

EV charger install

from £850

Charger supply and installation on a straightforward cable route. Model, supply capacity and any additional work are confirmed in the quote.

Lighting

Priced per job

Pendants, downlights, outdoor lighting and fault-finding. Tell us what you've got in mind; we'll talk through fittings and switching.

Full & partial rewires

Quote only

Planned room by room, with a clear schedule and agreed socket layout. We explain the disruption before you commit. Redecoration is separate.

Starting prices are a guide, not a bill. Your written quote confirms labour, materials, any applicable VAT and exclusions before work begins. Emergency callouts are quoted separately.

Landlords: is your EICR due? We'll remind you every 5 years, free.

Opt in when you book. If your report specifies an earlier inspection, that date comes first. Read the landlord guidance.

02 / How we work

It's your house.
We act like it.

“Nobody wants a mess in the hallway or a bill they weren't expecting. We turn up with a plan, talk you through it and get on with the job.”

Tom HartleyOwner & electrician

  1. Dust sheets before tools.

We protect the floors and the route through your home. If we need to move furniture or lift a floorboard, we ask first.

  2. We tidy up after ourselves.

Offcuts collected, work area vacuumed, tools out of your way. If chasing or plaster repairs are needed, you'll know before we start.

  3. You'll know what we've done.

We show you the work, explain the controls and answer your questions in plain English. No disappearing act at the end.

  4. Certificates emailed the same day.

For completed, tested work, we email the relevant electrical certificate or report that day. Any separate Building Regulations notification follows its own process.

04 / The details in writing

Know what
was done.

The quote and paperwork should make sense without an electrician standing next to you.

01 / Before work begins

A quote you can read.

Scope, materials, exclusions and any applicable VAT are set out before you agree to the job. If the existing wiring changes the plan, we talk it through first.

02 / At handover

The right report, explained.

For completed, tested work, we explain the result and email the relevant certificate or report. If separate Building Regulations notification applies, we explain that process too.

05 / Before you book

Fair questions.
Straight answers.

Not sure what you need? Describe the problem. You don't need to know the technical name.

How can I check registration?

Ask an electrician for their current registration number and insurance details before booking. You can check NICEIC registration through the official NICEIC search. This fictional business has no registration number.

What guarantee comes with the work?

A real written quote should state the workmanship guarantee, what it covers and how to raise a problem. Product warranties are separate. No guarantee term is claimed for this portfolio concept.

How can I pay?

Accepted payment methods, dates and any materials deposit should be confirmed in the written quote. This portfolio preview does not take payments. Do not send card or bank details through the enquiry form.

How long does a rewire take?

It depends on the size of the property, access and whether you're living there during the work. We'll inspect first and give you a schedule covering first fix, second fix and testing, including planned power interruptions. Plastering and decorating need to be allowed for separately.

Can I get a quote without a home visit?

Often, yes. A description of the job and a few photos can help with straightforward work. For a rewire, consumer unit change or anything where the existing installation needs checking, we'll arrange a visit before confirming the price.

06 / Let's get it sorted

What's the job?

A few details and your postcode are enough to start. We'll get back within 24 hours with a quote, or arrange a visit if we need a closer look.
